Assiya

Human Resources Analyst
Verdun, QC

Assiya works in Human Resources and has been with Boardwalk for a little over a year and says that it’s difficult to describe a typical day at work because she never deals with the same situations two days in a row. However, she also says that dealing with new and different situations each day is her favourite part of her job. After her busy days at work Assiya says she enjoys going home to have dinner with her family and friends. Before Assiya was a Human Resources professional she trained as a competitive figure skater. For those who work with Assiya, it will come as no surprise that she says, “The word that best describes me is passionate.”

Lindsay

Saskatchewan Regional Administrator
Saskatoon, SK

Lindsay has been with Boardwalk for a little over a year and says that he made the decision to apply on the recommendation of one of his best friends. As the Saskatchewan Regional Administrator, he says that he has no average days at work, which is why he enjoys his role so much; he gets to spend his time doing a little bit of everything. Lindsay has the chance to work on a lot of Boardwalk sponsorships in Saskatchewan and when asked what the most rewarding part of his job is he says, “Everything about my job is rewarding. I get a sense of accomplishment in everything that I do.” Outside of work Lindsay enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports and reading and writing fiction. To his colleagues at Boardwalk he says, “You are fortunate to work for a company that cares about its people and its Customers. This is no small thing. You have been given an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our Customers. Use that opportunity.”

Katherine

Customer Service Representative
Regina, SK

Katherine has been working with Boardwalk for over six years and in that time she says her favourite and most rewarding part of her job is helping people. As a Customer Service Representative, her days are always busy with the different tasks she needs to complete and the Customers she needs to help, she says, “I don’t do all of this by myself, I have amazing co-workers and a well balanced work setting that is very laid back.” Of her six years with Boardwalk, Katherine says one of her most memorable moments was having the opportunity to step into different roles throughout the company, including landscaping and cleaning. While Katherine is always very busy at work, in her spare time she enjoys designing tattoos and carving, building and designing tables.

Thomas

Landscaper
Windsor, ON

Thomas came to Boardwalk seven years ago, and after having worked for a landscape construction company for a few years he wanted something different and year round and found Boardwalk to be the perfect place. After seven years as a Boardwalk Landscape Associate, Thomas says that his favourite part of working for Boardwalk is the people he works with. He says, “I feel I work with one of the best crews. The winter of 2010 was one of the worst ever. In a snow storm we would start together and finish together. We would help each other out until all our sites were cleared.” Regardless of what season it is, after a busy day at work, Thomas says, “I enjoy spending time with my family, whether it’s going for walks, swimming at the beach, or just hanging out in the backyard.”
