Here are our answers to the most frequently asked questions on finding a Calgary apartment.

Q. I’ve heard that apartment vacancy is Calgary is very low. Does this mean that there are no apartments available to rent?

A. No! When you hear that there is low vacancy, it doesn’t mean that there are no apartments available; it simply means that apartments are not usually left empty between customers. Boardwalk has approximately 50% customer turnover each year, which means that every year 50% of our suites become available to rent. Even if there were zero per cent vacancy, 8,500 apartment units would be available in Boardwalk’s Alberta buildings each year.

Q. Are the apartments in good condition?

A. All of our apartments live up to Boardwalk high standards of quality and service. We have on-site customer service, cleaners, landscapers and maintenance Associates. We also offer a 24 hour Customer Call Centre, and 24 hour on-call maintenance. We are dedicated to providing high–quality, efficiently run buildings.

Q. How much is the rent?

A. The rent in our apartments differs from building to building, depending on the building location and style of suite - check out our website www.bwalk.com for the most recent rates.

Q. Should I expect large rental increases if I rent from Boardwalk?

A. No! Since 1999, we have operated under a strict, self-imposed maximum rental increase policy. This policy limits the amount we will increase rents for our current Customers to a maximum of $150 per year. In a hot rental market, this policy protects our Customers and lets them adjust to changing market conditions more slowly and comfortably.
