Through our B Sustainable pillar, environmental responsibility is woven into every aspect of our operations, investments, and communities. Our aim is to reduce our environmental impact, build long-term climate resilience, and encourage sustainable living through initiatives that create measurable, lasting change. Here’s how we continue to bring our environmental vision to life through B Sustainable.
Our sustainability mindset through B Sustainable also comes to life in our community-level environmental efforts. We organize initiatives that foster education, participation, and pride across our portfolio.
Held as part of B Sustainable, our Earth Month Challenge motivates Associates to take part in a series of eco-conscious tasks—such as composting, carpooling, recycling, and energy conservation. For each completed task, Boardwalk donates money that goes towards environmental conversation.
Since 2024, these efforts have raised just over $5,000. In partnership with TELUS Environmental Solutions, we contirbuted to planting over 5800 trees to replenish the forests of areas severely affected by wildfires. This challenge inspires friendly competition, drives awareness, and empowers teams to share green tips and achievements throughout our communities.
Through our partnership with MicroHabitat and guided by the B Sustainable pillar, we’ve introduced rooftop and courtyard gardens in several Quebec communities. These gardens not only produce fresh herbs and vegetables, but also enhance biodiversity and support environmental education. Resident Members, including children and families, were invited to participate in the cultivation and upkeep of these spaces—transforming our communities into living classrooms rooted in nature and sustainability.
Boardwalk organized a Community Clean-Up where Associates and Resident Members across provinces united to beautify shared spaces. These volunteers helped remove litter, plant pollinator-friendly flowers, and rejuvenate outdoor areas. This events not only strengthened local ecosystems but also deepen community bonds, promoting shared stewardship of the places we live, work, and thrive together.

In 2024, and as part of our B Sustainable efforts, Boardwalk invested over $23 million into comprehensive energy efficiency upgrades across our communities. These investments included:
