Building Better Communities

Changing Lives Benefit

Boardwalk Rental Communities Changing Lives Benefit is run in partnership with an international youth organization called Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and their Homes of Hope program. Boardwalk Rental Communities not only believes in continually working to improve the Communities in which we live, but also our global Communities. This is why, three times a year, we send approximately 150 Associates and Resident Members to Tijuana, Mexico to build houses for families in need. Each simple home is built by a team of 15-20 people, over a two-day period. The homes are then fully furnished with supplies donated by Boardwalk Rental Communities.

While Boardwalk realizes that the nine homes we build per year will not solve Mexico's poverty or homelessness epidemic, Boardwalk does believe these are small global steps that make a significant local impact. Charity home building is a life-changing experience for both the families who receive the homes, as well as the Associates and Resident Members who build them. For the participants, the memories, relationships and appreciation of the blessings we enjoy in Canada are significant and last a lifetime.

Companies With A Mission

Boardwalk Rental Communities would like to encourage other companies to consider participating in their own Homes of Hope trip. While many companies are interested in Boardwalk's Changing Lives Benefit, YWAM and Homes of Hope, but they also imagine that the planning and organization that goes into a home building trip must be incredibly time consuming and difficult.

Companies With A Mission (CWAM) can provide companies with the logistical tools needed to organize and execute a Homes of Hope home building project. Boardwalk Rental Communities will provide you with a planning guide, which includes in-house marketing materials, suggested timelines, checklists, budgets and templates for participant information hand-outs.

Aside from the fact that you will be improving the lives of several families forever, there are many reasons to consider participating in a CWAM Changing Lives Benefit.

  • Corporate social responsibility is becoming increasingly important. Associates are more likely to stay with an organization if they believe in the social ideals represented and supported by the company.
  • Companies that encourage Associates to participate and invest in social causes see improved morale, productivity and leadership.
  • Investors, Stakeholders and Customers are more likely to support organizations who promote social responsibility.
  • A CWAM Changing Lives Benefit is an investment in your Associates, yourself and your company.

Any company can plan and take part in a home building project, and anyone who is physically able to handle light to moderate, unskilled labour, can participate in the build. Boardwalk's CWAM support is completely free of charge, as our motivation for starting this program is to encourage other companies to participate in this life- changing experience.
