Coldest Night of the Year 2020
Published: February 28, 2020On Saturday, February 22, over 300 walkers in the London and area community came together to walk in support of The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY). This year, the walk was hosted by Mission Services of London, a social service agency dedicated to assisting people in need, regardless of their age or background.

The annual winter walk-a-thon raises money for Mission Services of London’s five branches: Community Mental Health Programs, Men’s Mission, Mission Store, Quintin Warner House and Rotholme Women’s and Family Shelter. Each branch offers meals, safe shelter, counseling and addiction treatment to men, women and families in need.
Everyone came out with high spirits to show their support for those in need. The fundraiser proudly exceeded its initial fundraising goal of $70,000 in addition to having its largest turn-out yet.
“We definitely over exceeded our $70,000 fundraising goal. We had an incredible 317 walkers participate and 35 teams. This is the most walkers we’ve ever had!”, says Elaine Cabrera, Development Officer - Events & Gifts-in-Kind of Mission Services of London.
Following the walk, participants and their families enjoyed a meal, face painting, a photo booth and live music.
Boardwalk would like to extend a special thank you to all our Residents and Associates who participated and volunteered in this year’s event. We look forward to supporting future walk-a-thons and charitable initiatives in the London community.
