Feed the Hungry 2019

Published: June 25, 2019

On Sunday, June 9th, Boardwalk held its annual Feed the Hungry dinner at St. Mary’s Hall in Calgary. Boardwalk proudly sponsors a Feed the Hungry dinner once a year and invites its Residents and Associates to volunteer.

Offered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary, the program hosts a weekly Sunday dinner that serves a full course meal including dessert at St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Since the program’s inception in 1994, approximately 500 members of Calgary’s homeless and underprivileged community gather at the Hall every Sunday to enjoy a delicious sit-down meal.

Feed the Hungry is a family of donors and volunteers dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Calgary’s homeless and underprivileged families.

Each dinner requires 100 volunteers over the course of a weekend to help set-up and prepare the meals. Volunteers help with everything from cutting vegetables, cooking food, greeting guests and serving.

With the help of our Residents and Associates, Boardwalk managed to serve an amazing 543 guests and 755 plates of food.
