Operation Christmas Child
Published: December 7, 2018Each year, Boardwalk takes part in Samaritan Purse’s Operation Christmas Child. The initiative encourages people to collect little gifts in shoeboxes that will be shipped to children in need in developing areas of the world.
The Canada-wide program encourages individuals, families, churches, businesses, and community groups to pack shoeboxes with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items, in addition to personal notes and photos. The shoeboxes are then given to children as unconditional gifts regardless of their race, religion or gender. When delivering the gifts, Samaritan's Purse often has the opportunity to work with local community leaders in addressing other needs, such as clean water, education, and school meals for children.
There are so many wonderful stories on our website of our Residents and Associates participating in this heart-warming initiative. Please join us by packing shoeboxes and help us bring Christmas joy to children in need.
