The Santa Shuffle Fun Run & Elf Walk – The Salvation Army

In 2017, Boardwalk began its partnership with The Salvation Army’s Santa Shuffle Fun Run & Elf Walk. The annual Christmas-themed run invites people of all ages and skill levels to raise funds for The Salvation Army’s local causes. On event day, participants wear their craziest festive costumes and choose between the five-kilometre Fun-Run or one kilometre Elf Walk.

This year, Associates and Residents in Regina and Saskatoon came together on December 1st to form ten people teams to compete in the run. Associates and Residents who wanted to join the fun but not run helped pass out snacks and register runners.

Many people came dressed in their favourite elf onesies, Santa hats and reindeer antlers. Some of this year’s highlights included a delicious lunch and best-dressed prizes. Every participant also received a Santa Shuffle medal to celebrate their accomplishment.

All proceeds from the Santa Shuffle go to The Salvation Army and go back to the community where they were raised. Regina’s proceeds will be spread out to the most needed through the Red Shield Program. Saskatoon’s proceeds will go directly to the Mumford House, an emergency shelter for women and children.

We hope to be able to take part in this fun initiative for years to come. To learn more about the Santa Shuffle and how you can get involved, please visit www.santashuffle.ca.
