Insurance and Risk Analyst Full Time

Administration
Calgary, Alberta

Job Responsibilities:

  • Incoming property, liability and auto claim file maintenance including creation, triaging, reporting and management of files for insured and self-insured exposures
  • Direct property, liability and auto claims handling, including corresponding with Adjusters, site Associates and Legal partners
  • Manage loss recovery claims
  • Oversee and support National Tenant Insurance compliance policies and strategies
  • Act as internal claims resource assisting with investigating and compiling data and financial information in support of claims and risk management activities
  • Participate in the annual Corporate Insurance Program renewal
  • Administration of annual Snow and Ice Removal log program
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders in development of loss prevention marketing and communication initiatives
  • Miscellaneous Risk and Insurance initiatives as required

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education required with University degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ Insurance experience
  • Completion or enrollment or in Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and/or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) program or willingness to participate

Technical Requirements:

  • Strong Excel skills – filtering, formatting, pivot tables etc.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong Administration skills

Non-Technical Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Progressive understanding and approach to emerging technologies
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong reading and interpretation skills (e.g. experience reading contracts and technical reports)
  • Must be analytical – be able to analyze various options and take appropriate action
  • Must be honest and energetic
  • Must be able to work within a team as well as independently
  • Ability to work independently and professionally
  • Ability to demonstrate fiscal responsibility
