Since the onset of COVID-19, we’ve implemented many proactive measures at our Boardwalk Retirement Communities to minimize the risk to our Residents Members, Families and Associates.
Here are some of the steps we’re taking to ensure the safety of our communities:
Risk Mitigation

To further protect our Residents, all Associates are required to wear gloves and a mask when maintaining a 6-foot distance is not possible.

In addition to routine cleaning, we’ve added additional sanitizing procedures in our community, flagging high-touch areas such as elevators, laundry rooms, seating areas and more. These areas are being sanitized a minimum of three times a day. To achieve this level of sanitization, we have increased the size of our team.

Hand sanitizing stations have been implemented at all entryways and must be used by anyone in the communal areas.

All Associates must undergo a noninvasive temperature check and complete a COVID-19 assessment form confirming that they did not travel to high-risk areas, have symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has travelled. The assessment form and temperature checks when they arrive at work.

All Associates are asked to complete an individual assessment before leaving for work.

All Resident Members and visitors must undergo a screening questionnaire, and noninvasive temperature checks twice a day. The questionnaire and temperature check is performed upon entry to the communal areas of the Boardwalk Retirement Community.

All Associates are required to wear specific personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks, face shields, gloves, gowns and sanitizers as directed by Connecting Care, AHS and MOH.
Deliveries

All grocery, medication and other deliveries must be placed in a carrier at reception. Our Associates will disinfect all items prior to delivering them to the Resident Member’s suite.
Dining Rooms
Residents can still enjoy each other’s company while practicing social distancing in our dining rooms.

We’ve rearranged dining times to allow for multiple dining sessions at lunch and dinner.

A maximum of two Residents is allowed per table.

Drinks are served by Associates to reduce high touch frequency.

All condiments have been removed from the tables.

Cutlery is individually wrapped, and salt and pepper are provided in individual sachets.

Meal delivery is available free of charge to any Resident who wishes to self-isolate or required to go into quarantine.
Social Activities and Online Connections

All activities and events have been modified to accommodate social distancing.

Boardwalk Retirement Community has created a space for Residents to virtually connect with their loved ones’ whilst observing self-isolation.
